Message from PP Peter Chu – Chairman of Organising Committee

Dear Rotarians and families,

It is indeed my pleasure on behalf of the Organising Committee to welcome you to one of the highlights of this Rotary year – the 54th District Conference. Our dedicated and committed organising team has been meeting for several months to plan and to bring you a District Conference with a difference.  The theme of the 54th District Conference is “Discover and Reconnect”

In line with our District’s commitment to ‘Engage Rotary, Change Lives’ we will bring Rotarians and family members together over two days to discover the potential in ourselves and our clubs, and to reconnect with ‘Rotary’ with fellow Rotarians, alumni, the extended Rotary family and the communities we serve. To this end we have planned an exciting business and entertainment program and lined up some of the most eminent speakers for inspiration.

As we all know – All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! So apart from the formal ‘business’ part of the conference program, there will be a celebration dinner and ball – The Rotary 109th Birthday Ball to celebrate 109 years of service as the world’s first volunteer service organisation.

In addition, on the 2nd day of the conference there will be opportunities to engage and service the local community with a Classic car Parade, and Rotary come out events.

The District Conference will be held early in the second half of the Rotary year on 22nd and 23rd February 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Tseung Kwan O, East Kowloon. This brand new venue is conveniently located on top of the Tseung Kwan O MTR station next to Popcorn Mall with easy access by car or public transport. We believe this District Conference will be well attended and urge you to register early to ‘Discover and Reconnect’ and be revitalized.

District Conference is getting nearer and nearer. Please take advantage of the “Early Bird” discount by submitting your registration form before Oct. 31, 2013. Please download the updated registration form with the following link: . You can also access to the official District Conference web page via the District official website under News and Event. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact RIC. There will be Chairman’s prizes for the top three clubs with the highest “Early Bird” registration. Also the table allocation will be based on a first-in, best table basis. Table size is 12 persons per table.
