Rotary International District 3450 has secured a very generous donation of brand new clothing and accessories from Target Australia of more than $3 million dollars’ worth of goods. These goods range from menswear and women’s wear to accessories like watches, sunglasses, bags, iPad cases and more. Thanks to Target Australia’s kindness,  four prominent charity groups: Caritas-Hong Kong, The Salvation Army (Hong Kong and Macau Command), Christian Action and St. James’ Settlement will be able to assist individuals in need.


We would like to express our gratitude to DG Eugene and PDG David’s personal staff, Rotarian Mabel Wong and 11 Rotaractors including Lok-chi TSANG (DDRR of DRC and treasurer of RAC Victoria), Yabe CHAN (EO of REC and member of RAC Hong Kong City North), Shun LIU (EO of REC and IPP of RAC HKIVE(Morrison Hill)), Cyrio CHEUNG (Member of RAC Victoria), Yin KAM (PE of RAC Kwai Chung), Ting Kwok Donald CHAN (Internal Vice President), Chun Wa David HUNG (Treasurer), Ngok Yeung Michael TONG (Community Service Director), Hon To Toby KU (Youth Serve Director), Ka Man Hebe PANG (President), Kim Wing Philip CHOI (International Service Director).

We divided the 220 cartons of goods into 4 groups which will be distributed to the four charities accordingly. The representatives from the aforementioned charities collected the donated goods on the morning of June 24th, 2014.

The Clothing for Charity Handover ceremony will take place at Luxembourg Room I, 3/F Regal Kowloon Hotel (71 Mody Road, Tsim Shat Tsui ) at 11:00am-12noon on June 29th, 2014. All Rotarians are welcome to join us to cerebrate the good we are doing.

Caritas-Hong Kong was founded by the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong. Its primary goal was to establish a place in order to relieve and offer rehabilitation services to the poor and distressed. Caritas aims to address the hardships and inequalities that are occurring within Hong Kong. The Salvation Army (Hong Kong and Macau Command) is committed to transforming lives, and caring for people through their Christian nature. Christian Action’s mission is to serve those who are disadvantaged, marginalized, displaced or abandoned. St. James’ Settlement is a service agency which provides high quality comprehensive services to meet the needs of people within the society. It is organized in order to help individuals assimilate and be integrated in the community.
