Visiting young Rotary public speaking winner from South Africa
Dear Club Presidents
Greetings from the Rotary Club of Hong Kong.
I am writing to you in connection with a project of the Rotary Club of Sandton, District 9400 South Africa under which they organize a speaking competition among schools in their district . Under this project the winner is hosted by a Rotary Club in another country for a few weeks during which period he stays with Rotarians and visits the Clubs in the other country.
Under the project it is intended that the Rotary Club in the other country will conduct a similar competition with the winner hosted by a Club in South Africa.
Last year the previous South African Consul General in Hong Kong, Madam Nomatemba Tambo, approached our Club to see if we could host the winner from South Africa. This, in spirit of international understanding and support of the new generation we agreed to do with our Club hosting the winner and with a view for our Club to arrange a similar competition at a future date,
The winner Niall Higgins, a 17 year old boy ( third on the right in the attached picture) will arrive in Hong Kong on Monday 2nd December and leave on Sunday 22nd December.
We would be grateful if your Club could kindly invite him as its guest to one of your Club meetings or other events that you may have during this time and give him an opportunity to speak at your Club.
I am copying our PP Arun Nigam and our Executive Secretary Kit Lee who are coordinating Niall’s visit and who will be happy to provide any further information that you may require.
Look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience as time short and appreciate your assistance on this worthwhile international project.
Yours in Rotary
President Terrill Frantz
